What is an example of persistent organic pollutants? The most commonly encountered POPs are organochlorine pesticides, such as DDT, industrial chemicals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) as well as unintentional by-products of many industrial processes, especially polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and dibenzofurans (PCDF), commonly known as dioxins

Fly Tipped Waste Collections

Fly-tipped asbestos

Fly-tipping is defined as the 'illegal deposit of any waste onto land that does not have a license to accept it.'. Uncontrolled illegal waste disposal can be hazardous to the public especially if it contains toxic material or asbestos, with further risks of damage to the water courses and soil.

If you are a private landowner and become a victim of this crime then unfortunately it becomes your responsibility to safely dispose of the waste and pay for any costs for doing so.

We can safely collect most types of fly-tipped waste streams including asbestos, plasterboard and paints, from most locations in the UK, we have contracts to provide this service with various local authorities across the Midlands..

Van Collections

If you cannot transport the waste directly to us we can arrange a van collection service on your behalf.

We are fully licenced carriers of all types of waste with trained ADR drivers and can produce the required documentation on your behalf.

This service operates on 24 hour 7 day a week wait and load service.

 PLASTERBOARD DISPOSAL FOR BUSINESSES

As a business producing large volumes of plasterboard waste, you have a duty of care to keep this waste stream segregated and dispose of it responsibly, or you’ll potentially face fines from the Environment Agency.

Your options for disposal include finding a local plasterboard recycling centre or passing the waste on to a licensed waste carrier, permitted to collect plasterboard.

We can offer enclosed skips and accept plasterboard waste at recycling centre, please call for more information

Fridge Disposal

Why is a fridge hazardous waste?

Whether you are a business or a household within Walsall, you still have a legal obligation to ensure that any hazardous waste, such as a fridge,  is disposed of safely and legally.

Waste is considered ‘hazardous’ under the government’s environmental legislation  when it contains substances or has properties that may make it harmful to human health or the environment. This does not necessarily mean it is an immediate risk to human health, although some waste can be.

Most refrigerators have a life span of around 10 to years, however, sooner or later, it will need to be replaced. It is very important at this point to recycle them as they all contain refrigerants (the substance that keeps your fridge cool by absorbing heat) that are potent greenhouse gases, and therefore, harmful to the environment.

We can offer a fridge collection service, please call for more information
